Our Mission

It is our mission to help adult learners improve their literacy and numeracy skills as well as provide community capacity building programs.

You can register for any of our programs at the Northern Lakes College Campus in High Prairie (across from A&W) 

Registration fees must be paid by the registration deadline to guarantee your spot and ensure we have enough to run the programs.

Unless stated otherwise, programs are held at the Northern Lakes College campus (across from A&W)

Improving Your Reading & Writing 

Tuesday & Thursday Evenings   -   6:00pm to 8:00pm - Starting January 16th, 2018

There is no registration fee or registration deadline for this program.

You can register anytime throughout the program.

This class is designed to help anyone improve their reading and writing, regardless of your skill levels

COOKING CLASSES: (to register for any of the cooking  classes got to the High Prairie Library)

All classes are $35 each

Held at E.W. Pratt High School - 10:00 to 2:00

  1. January 20th - Homemade Turkey Soup - registration deadline is January 16th - This is a great way to use up those leftover turkey scraps from Christmas (just keep your scraps frozen until you come to class). Homemade soup is a great way to stay warm in the winter
  2. February 10th -Cream Pies (also known as Flapper Pies) - we will make coconut cream  and chocolate pies) - registration deadline is February 6th 
  3. March 17th - Spring Rolls and Wontons - registration deadline is March 13th 
  4. April 21st -  Appetizers (we will make 5 different appetizers)- deadline to register is April 17th 
  5. May 26th - Macaroni and Potatoe Salads - great for summer - registration deadline is May 22nd

Introduction to Computers

February 5, 7, 12, 14, 20 and 21

6:30 to 8:30 

Registration fee is $50

Registration deadline is January 30th 

You will learn basic computer skills such as Word Processing, using the internet and Social Media.

Bring all your questions and Brian will help you out

Stained Glass 

Date March 23rd (6:30 to 9:00pm) & March 24th  (9:00 to 4:00)

Registration fee is $125    -    Registration deadline is March 19th 

This class is for anyone from beginner to master and you will leave with a completed project (approximately 8x10). 

All materials are supplied for you to complete a project 

Quilting - Learn What to do With Jelly Rolls

Date - January 27th & 28th   (9:00 to 4:00)

Registration fee is $20    -    Registration deadline is January 22nd 

You will need to bring your own sewing machine and fabric. 

When you register you will receive a list of required fabric for the project.

iPad Basics

January 23rd and 25th (6:30 to 8:30pm)

 Registration fee is $25    -    Registration deadline is January 18th

You need to bring your own iPad as well as any questions you may have.

Join us to learn how to navigate the programs and how to make it work for you. 

This is a great class to learn how to navigate your new iPad

Anger Management 

March 6, 13, 20, 27, April 3 and 10  -  (6:30 to 8:30)

Registration fee is $20 - Registration deadline is March 1st 

This six week program will look at how to deal with anger and the underlying cause and effect. We will give you tools to help deal with your emotions in an appropriate way
